10 Favourite Restaurants in Théoule-sur-Mer & Nearby

One of the great pleasures of staying in Théoule-sur-Mer is that you never have to go far for a good meal. From a simple lunch with your feet almost in the sand to elegant dinners overlooking the Mediterranean, there is a wonderful variety of restaurants scattered along the coast.

These are ten of our favourite places to eat in and around Théoule-sur-Mer — restaurants we would happily recommend to our own guests at Gaia’s Villas.

1. Le Panama — La Figueirette

If you are staying at Villa La Cigale or Villa La Cigalette, this one could hardly be more convenient. Le Panama sits right by the little beach of La Figueirette, just below the villas.

It is the kind of place that works particularly well for a relaxed holiday lunch. Sit outside, enjoy the Mediterranean view and let the children play on the beach while you linger over lunch. There is no need to dress up or make a production of it — this is Théoule at its most easy-going.

The restaurant has a terrace, bar and beach setting, and is currently listed as open from March through November. 

Best for: lunch by the beach, families and a relaxed first evening.

2. Chez Philippe — Théoule Village

At the heart of Théoule, Chez Philippe occupies a beautiful position right beside the sea and the harbour.

The setting is particularly lovely: a sandy beach, palm trees and the Mediterranean directly in front of you. The restaurant has a strong focus on fish and seafood, with the kind of setting that makes a long lunch very easy to justify.

It is a lovely choice when you want something a little more special without losing that wonderful feeling of dining right beside the sea.

Best for: a romantic lunch or dinner, seafood and a beautiful seaside setting.

3. La Maréa — La Figueirette

La Maréa is another favourite close to the villas and is practically on your doorstep if you are staying at Gaia’s Villas.

Large windows open onto views of the sea and the little harbour of La Figueirette, while in summer the terrace brings the Mediterranean atmosphere even closer, surrounded by palms and bougainvillea.

The restaurant has an elegant, relaxed atmosphere and a menu built around fresh Mediterranean ingredients. It is a particularly good choice when you want a proper restaurant meal while still enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of La Figueirette.

Best for: dinner, seafood and a beautiful view without having to drive anywhere.

4. La Brocherie — La Napoule

For a change of scenery, drive around the bay to La Brocherie, situated on the port of La Napoule.

Established in 1972, it has a wonderfully established Riviera feel and a setting close to the harbour. Seafood is naturally one of the highlights, but there is also a good choice of meat dishes, making it an easy option when everyone in the group wants something different.

Combine dinner here with a stroll around the harbour and, if you arrive early enough, a look at the extraordinary Château de La Napoule.

Best for: seafood, meat and an evening around La Napoule. 

5. L’Air du Temps — Théoule-sur-Mer

For the view alone, L’Air du Temps deserves a place on the list.

Set above the coast, the restaurant looks out across the Bay of Cannes towards the Lérins Islands, with Cap d’Antibes and the red rocks of the Estérel stretching away in the distance.

The setting is particularly beautiful towards the end of the day, when the light begins to soften over the Mediterranean. It is a lovely choice for lunch or dinner when the view is almost as important as what is on the plate.

Best for: spectacular views, sunset and a relaxed but special meal.

6. Comme à la Maison — Théoule Village

Sometimes you simply want somewhere that feels warm, friendly and uncomplicated. Comme à la Maison, in the heart of Théoule, is exactly that sort of place.

The restaurant offers French, Italian and Mediterranean cooking in a cosy setting, with a sunny terrace. It is a more intimate alternative to the larger waterfront restaurants and has become one of the village's particularly well-regarded addresses. 

It is a good choice when you want to leave the sea-view restaurants behind for an evening and experience a more local village atmosphere.

Best for: a relaxed dinner, families and casual Mediterranean cooking.

7. Le Boucanier — La Napoule

At the foot of the Château de La Napoule, Le Boucanier has one of those classic Riviera locations that makes you want to sit down and stay for a while.

The terrace looks directly towards the beach and the historic château, giving the restaurant a wonderfully relaxed seaside atmosphere. It is particularly enjoyable when combined with a visit to the château or an evening walk around La Napoule.

Best for: an informal meal, beachfront views and combining dinner with a visit to La Napoule.

8. Le Repère — Port de la Rague

Tucked into Port de la Rague, between Théoule and La Napoule, Le Repère is another excellent choice when you want to eat beside the water.

The restaurant is now under a new direction and presents itself as Le Repère Amore & Cucina, with an Italian-inspired Riviera atmosphere. The setting is right on the water, with an outdoor terrace, direct sea views and a relaxed dolce-vita feel. 

It is the sort of place where lunch can easily turn into an afternoon drink — particularly in summer.

Best for: harbour views, Italian-inspired cooking and a long Mediterranean lunch.

9. Les Voiles de Théoule — Théoule Village

Right in the centre of Théoule-sur-Mer, Les Voiles de Théoule is an easy choice when you want to stay close to the village and the sea.

The restaurant has a lovely Mediterranean atmosphere, with a spacious terrace overlooking the water. It is particularly pleasant for lunch or an easy-going dinner after a day exploring the village, beaches or Estérel coastline.

Best for: an easy-going lunch or dinner, fresh seasonal food and a central location.

10. L’Or Bleu — Théoule-sur-Mer

And then there is L’Or Bleu, for when you want to make an evening of it.

Located at the Tiara Yaktsa above the coast, L’Or Bleu offers a very different experience from the relaxed beach restaurants. The elegant dining room opens onto the Mediterranean, with large windows and a terrace overlooking the sea.

Chef Alain Montigny, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Michelin-starred chef, creates refined seasonal cuisine in an intimate setting. This is not the place for a quick holiday lunch — it is the restaurant to choose when you are celebrating something, or simply want one memorable evening during your stay.

Best for: a special occasion, fine dining and an unforgettable Riviera dinner.

Which one should you choose?

It really depends on what kind of evening you have in mind.

For lunch with children: Le Panama is hard to beat. You can eat while the children are on the beach — holiday logistics at their absolute best.

For seafood by the sea: Chez Philippe or La Maréa.

For a spectacular view: L’Air du Temps.

For something casual and local: Comme à la Maison or Les Voiles de Théoule.

For an evening around La Napoule: La Brocherie or Le Boucanier.

For a beautiful harbour setting: Le Repère at Port de la Rague.

For a special celebration: L’Or Bleu.

And if you are staying at Gaia’s Villas, several of these restaurants are close enough that you can simply walk, while the others make an easy short drive along the coast.

One of the pleasures of Théoule is precisely this: you don't need to plan every evening in advance. Some nights call for a long lunch beside the water, others for an elegant dinner, and sometimes the best plan is simply to walk down to the beach, find a table, order something cold to drink and see where the evening takes you.
